In the beginning, the creature
nurtured its spirits and its demons.
Its vessel was untamable and superficial;
on the edge of the abyss it observed
the unfathomable darkness that surrounded it,
and above the waters it heard
the fluttering of the transcendental.
En los principios, la criatura
crió sus espíritus y sus demonios.
Su vasija era indomable y superficial;
al borde del abismo observaba
las insondables tinieblas que la rodeaban,
y sobre las aguas escuchaba
el aleteo de lo trascendental.
The Irresponsibility of Being
La irresponsabilidad
He cut off the light from the darkness with words;
he was not satisfied: for him, everything was bad!
He bit the fruit and bowed before ignorance,
expelling every divine breath from within him,
restraining himself from breathing.
Cortó con palabras la luz de las tinieblas;
no se sació: ¡para él, todo fue malo!
Mordió el fruto y se inclinó ante la ignorancia,
expulsó todo soplo divino de su interior,
cohibiéndose de respirar.
The Fall of Man
La caída del hombre
He was ashamed of his nakedness; his clothes were born of fear.
Out of envy, he cried out for his brother’s blood,
a wandering and merciless path forevermore.
Se avergonzó de su desnudez;
de miedo fueron sus vestiduras.
Por envidia clamó la sangre de su hermano,
camino errante y desalmado para siempre.
"All was made in His image and likeness."
"Todo lo creo a su imagen y semejanza"
He created cultures and beliefs
enslaving himself, he overflowed with his desires
and from them sprang
his most sincere lusts.
Creó culturas y creencias
esclavizándose a sí mismo, desbordó sus deseos
y de ellos brotaron
sus más sinceras lascivias.
"I wish to be governed."
Deseo ser Gobernado.
He cried out to be ruled,
politics blinded his freedom,
in pursuit of power
he destroyed everything in his path.
A gritos pidió ser gobernado,
la política cegó su libertad,
por perseguir el poder
destruyó todo a su paso.
Its convenience
su conveniencia
He moralized for his own convenience,
stigmatized his horrid deeds,
created dualities
and divided by groups,
soothing the status of appearances.
Moralizó a su conveniencia,
estigmatizó sus horrendas acciones,
creó dualidades
y separó por grupos,
aliviando el estatus de las apariencias.
His dark side
Su lado oscuro
He praised his virtues,
hid his darker side,
denied what blossomed within,
for religion had forbidden it.
Halagó sus virtudes,
escondió su lado oscuro,
negó lo que brotaba dentro de sí,
porque la religión se lo prohibía.
Abandonment of the self
Abandono del ser
He abandoned his being,
disconnected from his nature,
sank into his vices,
and took creation as an object.
Abandonó el ser,
se desconectó de su naturaleza,
se hundió en los vicios,
tomó la creación como objeto.

He competed without limits,
lived under the illusion of pleasure
and the cruel desire to fit in. He judged without mercy
and proclaimed himself the center of the universe.
Compitió sin límites
vivió bajo la ilusión del placer
y el cruel deseo de encajar. Juzgó sin misericordia
se proclamó el centro del universo.

He wanted to change the world
when inside him all was chaos, he wove dreams and became trapped within them,
he praised foolishness and sought someone to save him from it.
Quiso cambiar el mundo
cuando en su interior todo era caos,
tejió sueños y se quedó atrapado en ellos,
alabó la estupidez y buscó quien lo salvara de ella.

Encadenar al niño
Chain the child within your mind, and even when you grow old, his shackles will still haunt you. The bloodiest war is the one against oneself, so much pageantry for this fleeting sigh.
Encadena al niño en su mente,
y, aun cuando fuere viejo, le perseguirán sus grilletes.

mucha parafernalia para este efímero suspiro.

from the intense cold.
Time makes it finite,
for beyond it, everything is unreachable.
La sensación del calor proviene
del frío intenso.
El tiempo lo hace finito,
porque después de él todo es inaccesible.

We are spirits allowed to live human experiences. That’s why I believe in your gaze. I do not lose faith! The domino game has ended; too many pieces remain unplayed.
Somos espíritus que se nos permite tener experiencias humanas.
Por ello creo en tu mirada.
